Spring Journal #1
Spring inspired journal prompts
As it is currently Spring here in Australia, creeping into Summer soon, I am going to [try] do atleast 3 or 4 Spring inspired journal prompt entries (with a few prompts each). Ideally before the 1st of December when it is officially the first day of Summer.
What is beauty? What does it mean to you right now?
In this present moment in time, beauty is the bringing of nature into the home. Or rather the merging of nature and general life.
The rose buds close to opening being placed in the vase that lives on the dining table, giving us a front row seat to their bloom.
The dehydration of oranges to add to the decor.
The weekly habit of watering the ever growing collection of indoor plants.
The creation of a garden path using pavers we painted as a family.
Beauty can be found in the planning of something new. The plan to build a chicken coop and get chickens in the new year. The plan to expand the vegetable patch.
Beauty is in creation.
How have you grown this season?
My connection to my creative energy is thriving. There’s no more locked doors between needs and wants in regards to creating. I feel closer to my truest self than ever before, having been enlightened to what my creative archetype is, and no longer hiding parts of my core self. It has been given explanation, making it possible to identify what may be holding me back, or what is aiding me to flourish. As someone who has always loved creating in certain ways, I had never fully sat in or embraced that energy, allowing it to flow into every part of me, at all times, until recently.
Are there any habits that were left in Winter? Are there new habits starting this Spring?
The habit of leaving certain tasks for ‘a few more days’ is no more. Tasks get done when they need to be done, or shortly thereafter.
A newer habit is a cup of chamomile tea, with a dash of honey, is taken every night before bed.
As of a few days ago I have introduced something new to my daily routine. Instead of making a coffee first, I’m having a lemon, ginger and honey tea, followed by breakfast, and then my coffee.
What do you associate with Spring?
First thing that comes to mind is rebirth.
The rose bushes forming it’s next group of buds.
The influx of birds in the narure surrounding our home.
The colours of the natural world coming forth in the brightest shades they can.
That overall sense of self that feels like it’s coming alive again with the changing of seasons. As the cold starts to fade, and the light lingers longer, creating earlier mornings and later evenings, giving the illusion we have more time in the day to tackle our daily tasks.
If you are reading this, please feel free to use these prompts, and even comment below your answers🌻
I am Jess and the writer of My Merry Musings. Though I am no writer. I am not great with words but have had the inspiration to keep writing the random musings I have. This space is a safe place for me to put these thoughts. If you happen to resonate, please stay and enjoy.
Make a cuppa. Get cozy. Enjoy the chaos.
